Who benefits at Liv Well Wild School?

Liv Well Wild School welcomes children ages 3–5. Our program is thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of this age group through play, exploration, and early literacy enrichment. While we hope to expand in the future, our current focus is on creating the most meaningful experiences for preschool-aged learners.

When are classes held?

Wild School classes for our 2027 seasons will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00am-12:00pm.

Where are classes held?

Our classrooms are the great outdoors! We meet at local parks in Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas. See our “Enroll Now” page for class details.

What’s your inclement weather policy?

We believe there’s no such thing as bad weather - only inappropriate clothing! Classes continue in most conditions, with seasonal activities that make the most of rain, snow, and sunshine. For thunderstorms, high heat, high winds, extreme cold, ice, or unsafe travel conditions, we will notify families of a cancellation at least 90 minutes before class begins.

Do you require all children to be potty trained?

Yes. Children must be dependably potty trained unless a parent or caregiver remains with them during class.

Do parents or caregivers need to stay during class, or is there a drop-off option?

Parents and caregivers are always welcome to stay and participate, but it is not required. For families who prefer drop-off, children who are dependably potty trained may attend independently. Small groups and experienced educators ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.

What makes Liv Well Wild School different than others in the area?

Liv Well Wild School is led by an early childhood educator and certified reading specialist. We combine child-led, play-based exploration with strong early literacy foundations, particularly in phonological awareness, all in a nature-rich setting. Flexible scheduling and small-group formats make our program unique in the area.

Does Liv Well offer make-up classes?

We do not offer make-up classes but we understand that life happens and will do our best to be flexible. If families have an issue with enrollment and scheduling, we encourage them to contact livwellwildschool@gmail.com for assistance.

Is Liv Well Wild School a licensed preschool?

Liv Well Wild School is not a licensed preschool or child care center. It is a seasonal, part-time enrichment program. Families use our program to enrich their child’s home or preschool learning with meaningful outdoor, play-based experiences.

What does my child wear to Wild School?

Children should wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that can get messy, along with socks and close-toed shoes. We will almost always recommend layers!

What should my child bring for Wild School?

Each child should bring a labeled, spill-proof water bottle, a nourishing snack or two, and a small, labeled backpack or reusable bag for carrying his/her belongings.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Families may pay in full at the time of enrollment, or choose to utilize our two-payment method.

What curriculum are you using?

Our program is built on over a decade of early childhood teaching experience. We use state standards as a guide and integrate the Heggerty Literacy Curriculum for phonemic awareness. Beyond that, learning is rooted in thematic, nature-based units designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills.

What does a typical day of Wild School entail?

Each morning includes nature-based play, group connection time, stories, songs, hikes, literacy instruction, and hands-on exploration. Children are encouraged to follow their curiosity while guided by an experienced educator in a safe, supportive environment. (See our “Daily Rhythm” page for more.)

When will enrollment open for next year begin?

Our 2027 seasons are being finalized. We will have enrollment details available for spring, summer, and fall 2027 very soon!
